Iran will soon launch Nahid satellite: Minister

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology Issa Zarepour says the country will soon launch its homemade Nahid satellite into space. Zarepour said on Sunday that launching Nahid could take place by the end of the Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2023). On November 5, Iran announced the successful test flight of Ghaem-100, a rocket to be used for launching Nahid. Commenting on other Iranian satellite projects, Zarepour said Iran has been receiving images taken by Khayyam, an Iranian satellite placed into orbit in April after its launch from Russian Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan. He said Iran and Russia will continue to cooperate on space projects, including the manufacturing and launch of other satellites, as part a four-year agreement between the two countries.
