Malaysian Team Selected For First Dubai Solar Decathlon Middle East

KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 (Bernama) – A Malaysian team – MizanHome from Universiti Teknologi and Universiti Sains Islam – have been selected for the first Dubai Solar Decathlon Middle East (SDME) in November this year. They are among the teams short-listed. Others are Team Know-Howse from University of Sharjah, UAE and University of Ferrara, Italy; Team ORA from Heriot-Watt University in Dubai; Team NYUAD from New York University Abu Dhabi; Team Jeel from the American University in Dubai and more. The announcement was made at the Second International Workshop, organised by DEWA for the 21 teams from 36 universities in 15 countries participating in the first competition in November this year. The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has also open the registration for the second SDME – with prizes for the two rounds total over AED20 million (US$5.45 million) (RM 21.04 million). Teams can register on www.solardecathlonme.com, a statement said. SDME was created through an agreement between Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, DEWA, and US Department of Energy. Dubai will host the first two rounds of SDME in November 2018 and 2020. --BERNAMA
