Malaysian UniSZA Wins Two Gold Medals At Invention Show In Geneva

KUALA TERENGGANU (Terengganu, Malaysia), April 15 (Bernama) - Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) won two gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, Switzerland from April 2-6. Centre for Research and Innovation (CRIM) deputy director Dr Khamsah Suryati Mohd said the success was first time lucky for UniSZA. "All five products we took to Geneva won medals. The two which won gold medals were the Interactive Animated Epilepsy Education Programme (IAEEP) for children and i-Warner, a flood detection product using smartphones," she told reporters when met at UniSZA, here Tuesday. Two more products, the Virtual Umrah software and Zuhause, a flexible seat, won the silver medals while ExGenoba System, a product designed to make examination questions automatically won the bronze medal. Khamsah Suryati said the Virtual Umrah won the Masjidil Haram special award from Saudi Arabia while the Exgenoba System won a special award from the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA). Lecturers behind the products were; Dr Engku Fadzli Hasan Syed Abdullah, Prof Lua Pei Lin, Normala Rahim, Muhammad Muzzammel Mukhtar and Azwa Abdul Aziz. All five products won gold medals at the International Invention, Technology and Innovation Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur in May last year. -- BERNAMA
