Tehran to host biomedical engineering confab

Tehran, Nov 17, IRNA - The 21th Iranian Conference on Biomedical Engineering will be held at Amirkabir University of Technology’s Biomedical Engineering Faculty in Tehran. The confab, which will start from Nov. 26-28, is being organized by the Iranian Society for Biomedical Engineering. The event will gather academics, researchers and industry professionals to discuss recent advances in fields pertaining to biomedical engineering. Professor Yousef Yazdi, Dr. Jahangir Tavakkoli, Dr. Hossein Baharvand and Dr. Paredes Lozano from University of Alcalá in Madrid, Spain, are keynote speakers. Professor Yazdi holds MS and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He also earned the MBA from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School with a minor in entrepreneurial management. Dr. Jahangir Tavakkoli obtained his Master’s in biomedical engineering from Sharif University of Technology in Tehran. He obtained a PhD in biomedical engineering from the University of Lyon in France. Born in 1972, Hossein Baharvand received his PhD from Khwarazmi University (formerly Tarbiat Moallem University) in Tehran in 2004 in the field of cell and developmental biology. Biomechanics of biological fluids and solids, engineering for neurologic rehabilitation, sports biomechanics, robotics, cardiovascular and respiratory systems engineering, biomaterials engineering, tissue engineering, telemedicine and biochemical engineering are the main subjects that will be discussed in the event./end
