Tehran to host intl. transportation, railway exhibition

TEHRAN, Apr. 26 (MNA) – Tehran will host the 3rd International Exhibition of Transportation and Rail Industry, May 19-22. The four-day event will bring together organizations, institutions, and foreign as well as domestic companies specializing in railroad technology in Tehran International Permanent Fairground. The exhibition will display passenger rail industry and services in urban, suburban and freight sectors, different types of wagons, propulsion, maneuver, and generator wagons, electric and diesel locomotives, spare parts for buses, freight cars, transport companies, rail companies providing after-sales services, maintenance services, and insurance services. Companies active in railroad industries from Germany, Turkey, China, Austria, Spain, Malaysia, India, Hong Kong, and Italy will put to public display their products and services. The exhibition seeks to provide information to participants and the interested public on the latest technologies and achievements in railroad transportation and related industries, domestic industries, exports, Iranian capabilities, handling sanctions, and indigenization of railroad technology. The 4th International Conference on Railroad Engineering Advances and Investment Opportunities in Islamic Republic of Iran’s Railroad Industries will be the side-events held in collaboration with Ministry of Roads and City Planning, I.R. Iran’s Railroad, Railroad Industries Association, Railroad Transportation Companies Union, Urban Subway Union, and Railroad Engineering University. Ali Mohtasham Amiri, the executive director of the exhibition told reporters on Saturday that the event would host high-ranking government officials, top managers of the Europe and the Middle East. “In terms of the exhibition venue, the area hosting the event has been doubled; in terms of the number of attending companies, we have an 80-per cent growth, rising up to 120 companies from last year’s 70 companies,” he added.
