SINGAPORE, June 11 (Bernama) -- Both North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and the United States President Donal Trump are already here, two days before a landmark summit this Tuesday.

Trump’s Air Force One touched down at the Paya Lebar air base here at 8.30pm. He had left early from the G7 summit in Canada.

Earlier in the afternoon, Kim arrived at Changi Airport on an Air China flight.

Both of them were received by Singapore's Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan.

The ‘nuclear peace’ summit will be held at Capella Hotel in Sentosa Island.

The Summit is aimed among others to see North Korea ‘denuclearise’ its nuclear programme in return for economic freedom and security guarantees.

The first meeting between the two leaders was called off just two weeks before the event but later reinstated.

Kim will be staying at the St Regis hotel, less than a kilometre from the Shangri-La, where Trump is being accommodated

Trump’s arrival was broadcast live by host broadcaster, Mediacorp.
