UniMAP Wins Two Gold In SIIF Korea Fair

KANGAR (Perlis, Malaysia), Nov 30 (Bernama) -- Yet again, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) has brought honours to the country when it won two gold medals at the Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF 2015) in Gangnam-Gu, Seoul in South Korea. The four-day fair began on Nov 26. UniMAP vice-chancellor, Prof Emeritus Dr Kamarudin Hussin said apart from the two products, UniMAP also garnered 100 per cent success at the fair when another five products were awarded silver and two others, bronze. According to him, the two products which won gold were the Hybrid Fiber-Wireless Flexible Cross Correlation OCDMA for Future Broadband AccessNetwork by Dr Mohd Rashidi Che Beson and a Non-Invasive Salivary Glucose Detection Kit by Prof Dr Uda Hashim. "SIIF 2015 is among the prestigious research fair which assembles more than 400 products from all over the world, and we are proud with the 100 per cent success," he said in a media statement here Sunday. SIIF 2015 was organised by Korea Invention Promotion Association and was fully supported by World Intellectual Property Organisation and the International Federation of Inventors Associations. Meanwhile, Dr Mohd Rashidi when contacted said his research product with a group of researchers at the Advanced Communications Engineering Centre was a solution to wireless problems in the interior. -- BERNAMA
