Festival Of India 2015 Comes To M'sia's State of Melaka Starting Next Monday

KUALA LUMPUR, May 23 (Bernama) -- The Festival of India 2015 is coming to Melaka at the Melaka Art Gallery for three weeks starting next Monday. According a statement from the High Commission of India in Malaysia Friday, the festival would cover several cultural events and showcase Indian culture and arts. However the one important segment of the festival is the audio-visual exhibition entitled 'Life of the Silver Screen: The Story of Indian Cinema' which comprises of film clips, publicity materials, artifacts and interactive multimedia. Entry for the exhabition is free. Meanwhile, in another statement, the High Commission said two photography exibitions, 'Grandeur of Chola Temples' and "Chennai Nalla Chennai' will be held in Sungai Petani, Kedah starting Saturday until May 31. The exhibitions will consist of vast photo archives of the great living Chola Temples which were built by the Kings of the Chola Empire, which stretched over all of south India and even reached parts of Southeast Asia. For the "Chennai Nalla Chennai" exhibition, a well-known photo artiste, S.A Ramesh, will showcase 65 photos of visual feast of Chennai city.
