Georgian tour operators lose to $ 500, 000 due to events in Egypt

Georgia, Tbilisi, Aug. 21 /Trend N.Kirtzkhalia / Due to the riots in Egypt Georgian tourist companies have to cancel trips to Egypt and their losses constituted about $500, 000, Radio Commersant reported with the reference to Georgian Tourism Association. According to the representative of "Tour Dji" company Mamuka Djikiya, most of the clients cancelled their reservation and they had to redirect these tourists to Turkey. That is why the company is at a big loss currently. The "Intercontinental" company also reports about serious financial problems. In particular, only 10 tourists of 140 flew to Egypt. As it is known, Foreign Affairs Ministry called Georgian citizens to refrain from traveling to Egypt.
