Giant Pandas Expected To Receive 45,000 Visitors A Month

KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 (Bernama) -- The presence of a pair of giant pandas will lure over 45,000 visitors to the National Zoo every month, according to the Malaysian Zoology Association deputy president Rosly@Rahmat Ahmat Lan. He said visitors could come to the zoo to visit the pandas starting end of next month. Apart from local visitors, Rosly said the presence of the pandas would also attract visitors from Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. Meanwhile, Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents (MATTA) president Hamzah Rahmat said the presence of the giant pandas at the zoo would help boost the tourism industry in the country. -- BERNAMA
