"Goût De France - Good France," An Opportunity To Enjoy True Taste Of French Cuisine

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 29 (Bernama) -- Malaysians will get the chance to enjoy the true taste of French delicacies during the "Goût de France" - Good France," a French cuisine showcase to be organised by the Embassy of France here starting March 19 to 23. According to the embassy, six restaurants and one culinary arts school will participate, with each one of the seven participating French chefs in Kuala Lumpur offering a 'French-style' menu in their restaurants. The menu will be based on a multi-course meal and fresh, seasonal and local products with French wines and spirits, while remaining free to highlight their own culinary traditions and cultures, the embassy said in a statement. Launched in 2015, this initiative is organised for the second consecutive year by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development and Chef Alain Ducasse. During the event, French embassies worldwide and all participating restaurants would showcase a vibrant, open and innovative cuisine while remaining true to the values of sharing, pleasure and respect for the principles of high-quality, environmentally responsible cuisine, the statement said. Recognised worldwide, the event will be commemorated on March 21 this year in 150 countries where restaurants and embassies will offer 1,500 dinners to celebrate France's gastronomy by inviting the public to share a 'French dinner'. In Kuala Lumpur, a special dinner will also be hosted at the French Ambassador's residence on that day, the climax of the worldwide event, the statement said. Details and list of participating restaurants can be found on the Embassy of France website, http://www.ambafrance-my.org/Gout-de-France-in-Malaysia and latest information will be posted on on Twitter @FRKualaLumpur. --BERNAMA
