Iran negotiates with the Christieˈs to organize auction at Kish Island

Tehran, May 6, IRNA - Iran held negotiation with the Christieˈs fine arts auction house to organize business office at Kish Island for Iranian artworks, Minister of Culture and the Islamic Guidence Ali Jannati said on Monday. Jannati told reporters that the negotiations focused on providing the Iranian artists with better opportunity to sell their artworks. The Ministry of Culture and the Islamic Guidance offered the Christieˈs auction to organize business office at Kish Island of the Persian Gulf. If such an auction be organized in Iran, artists from other countries will also bring their artworks and that is considered a privilege for Iran, Jannati said. He said that Iranian artists are used to sell their artworks in Europe and the Christieˈs organizes auction for Iranian artists due to prominence of their artworks and that Iranian artists are internationally acclaimed for high quality of their works. Meanwhile, Iranian artists usually takes part in the Christieˈs auction which is held in Dubai twice a year. end
