Japanese Travel Agency to Collaborate with Japanese Fashion Store

Tokyo, April 26 (Jiji Press)--JTB Japan Travel Corp. said Wednesday that it will launch a new joint project called JTBeams with Japanese fashion store operator Beams Co., with the aim of promoting regional specialties. The first promotional event focuses on the Kyushu region in southwestern Japan. A website featuring Kyushu has opened, and goods from Amakusa in Kyushu's Kumamoto Prefecture are on sale at a major Beams shop in Tokyo. JTBeams fuses the creativity that JTB Japan Travel has gained through domestic tour planning with the discerning eye that Beams has acquired from decades of managing stores that handle select brands. The two companies hope to boost regional economies by promoting domestic tourism and selling regional products. "We'd like to borrow Beam's unique eye for style to create new domestic tours," JTB Japan Travel President Yasuhisa Otani told a press conference. END
