M'sian State Of Perlis Wants Private Sector To Help Boost Its Tourism Sector

From Adnan Jahaya ZURICH, Nov 28 (Bernama) -- The Perlis tourism development Sector needs a boost from the private sector in Malaysia or abroad to accomplish its plans. The Raja Muda (Crown Prince) of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail said in this regard, he hoped the private sector would help the state in realising its tourism-based Perlis Strategic Development Plan 2030. Launching a Perlis food promotion at the HotWok Restaurant at Roostrasse 40, Regensdorf here Thursday, he said it was to draw the tourism sector's attention to Perlis. The restaurant owned by Ravi Nair, 58, from Sentul, Kuala Lumpur has been operating for 19 years. Meanwhile, the Perlis Strategic Development Plan 2030 outlines five strategic thrusts to include turning Perlis into a major tourism destination. The plan which commenced in 2012 underscores 10 projects in three clusters, that included facelifting tourism products, developing new tourism products and building the Kuala Perlis Tourism Complex. Also present at the event were Raja Puan Muda (Crown Princess) of Perlis, Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil and Malaysian Ambassador to Switzerland, Zulkephli Mohd Noor. The food promotion was organised by HotWok Restaurant with the cooperation of Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Malaysian Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Perlis office, Yayasan Tuanku Syed Putra Perlis and BMC Travel. -- BERNAMA
