Nepal Airlines Offers 'Buy Two, Get One Free' Scheme On Kathmandu-Bangkok Route

By Yuba Nath Lamsal KATHMANDU, May 20 (Bernama) -- Nepal's national carrier, Nepal Airlines (NA) has announced a lucrative scheme, 'buy two, get one free' on the Kathmandu-Hong Kong sector as demand for tickets plummeted after the massive earthquake in Nepal. NA has offered the scheme to provide one free ticket to those who buy two tickets on Kathmandu-Bangkok sector, it said in a statement Tuesday. This scheme was announced as tourists cancelled their bookings after the April 25 earthquake which killed more than 8,600 people in Nepal. "The scheme, however, is limited to those who buy tickets before June 15 and use it by June 30," said NA spokesman Ramhari Sharma. NA operates three flights a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) on the Kathmandu-Bangkok sector with A 320-200 Airbus. "We hope this scheme will help bring our business back to normal and the number of passengers will increase, as well," said Sharma. NA’s fare on the Kathmandu-Bangkok sector is relatively low and the scheme is expected to attract more Thai tourists, according to the statement. Kathmandu-Bangkok was one of the commercially lucrative sectors for the NA as passengers earlier had to book ticket months in advance in this sector. -- BERNAMA
