"One Market By Chef Wan" Offers Special Asian Halal Cuisines

By Ahmad Fuad Yahya JAKARTA, July 27 (Bernama) -- By mid-October, food enthusiasts will have the opportunity to enjoy some 120 Asia's special and best cuisines from seven Asean countries at a food hall in Singapore without having to feel doubtful whether they are 100 per cent halal. The food hall branded as 'One Market by Chef Wan' will offer a stall ambience providing quality delicious dishes in a clean environment at affordable prices. The food hall is branded with renowned chef, Chef Wan from Malaysia as well as leading chefs from Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Brunei to provide an array of delicacies. Chef Wan or Redzuawan Ismail was happy that his idea of creating food business based on the concept of a special food hall offering Asian's best was well-received and would be realised with Indonesia's leading conglomerate, Lippo Corporation. One Market by Chef Wan is a strategic cooperation under the Singapore Food Junction project which would become one of the food centres in the famed shopping centre in the golden triangle, The Atrium which would annexed with Plaza Singapura in Orchard Road, Singapore. The One Market by Chef Wan food centre was being developed with an investment of RM20 million (US$6 million) with an area of 18,000 sq ft. It was designed by an architect from Indonesia and could accommodate 500 diners at one time said Chef Wan when met here on Thursday. He was here as the invited chef of The Dharmawangsa Jakarta hotel in conjunction with Ramadhan. He said One Market by Chef Wan would offer food aficionadoes especially among Muslims to enjoy all the special cuisines from several Asean countries which they could not do so as they were served in non-halal restaurants. "I see many Muslims desiring to taste the delicacies from countries in the region such as Vietnam, Cambodia or Thailand but could not do so as the halal status was doubtful. "Therefore, I presented by my idea to Lippo and they were enthusiastic with the food business," he said. The cooperation with Lippo Corporation in the business was aimed at garnering the communities of Asean to share their special cuisines with other Asean countries. At One Market said Chef Wan, he would share knowledge with chefs from other Asean countries to jointly develop the food business and they could demonstrate their skills in preparing the food to customers at an open-concept food centre. He and Lippo Corporation plan to open new businesses in Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta in future. -- BERNAMA
