Pahang Media Holds CSR Programme At Hanoi's Al-Noor Mosque

From Noor Shamsiah Mohamed HANOI, Nov 11 (Bernama) -- After conquering Mount Fansipan and planting the Malaysian Flag at the bottom of Halong Bay, the Pahang Media group continued its seventh day of expedition 'Road To Fansipan' by holding a corporate social responsibility programme at the Al-Noor Mosque here. The 100-year-old mosque, a remnant of the French colonisation, was the only mosque in the city to cater for 300 Muslims in the area, including diplomats from Islamic nations. Expedition head Fazli Ahmad said the programme was held to strengthen ties between Muslims in Vietnam and Malaysia and to hand over contributions from Pahang. "Of the more than six million residents in Hanoi, there are only 300 Muslims, including 66 local residents, registered with the mosque. "The latter are the ones who need items like sarong for prayers, books on personal religious obligations and the Quran, and as such, we took the initiative to make some contributions," he told Bernama here, Monday.
