Passenger traffic of Russian airlines to be over 94 mln in 2022 — Minister

MOSCOW, November 30. /TASS/. Russian airlines will carry 94-96 mln passengers in 2022, Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev said on Wednesday. "Considering the renewal of the shutdown of airports in South Russia, we plan to carry approximately 94-96 million passengers in this year. Domestic air lines will account for about 80 mln passengers, and international air lines - for 16 mln. This is in consequence of closure of southern airports. If these were opened, we would have been able to additionally transport about 19 mln passengers, as it takes place almost every year," Savelyev said. Airlines have already carried 87 mln passengers (71.4 mln inside Russia and 15.7 mln in the international air service) year to date, the Minister said. Fifteen Russian airlines and more than fifty foreign ones are supporting the international traffic at present. Read more
