Russia, Kuwait reach understanding on easing visa rules, says minister

KUWAIT CITY, March 28. /TASS/. The Russian and Kuwaiti authorities have reached understanding on easing visa rules to increase the flow of tourists, but the issue is in the competence of the two countries’ foreign ministries, Russian Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky told Tass on Monday. He said the stance of the Russian Foreign Ministry was that mutual moves were needed, adding that the simplified visa framework was one of the focal points in his talks with Foreign Minister of Kuwait Sabah al-Khalid al-Hamad al-Sabah. Medinsky said the ministry was always in favor of such decisions, noting that foreigners were often discouraged against trips to Russia by a need to prepare documents. "With such approaches we will not achieve mass tourism, and of course maximal easing of visa requirements is needed," he said. Read more
