Russia, UAE stand for resolving crises in Middle East through dialogue - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. Russian Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov has held talks with the UAE leadership, confirming that there is no alternative to resolving crises in the Middle East and North Africa through inclusive national dialogues, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement following Bogdanov’s visit to Abu Dhabi. According to the ministry, Bogdanov was received by Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, and also held meetings with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and National Security Adviser Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. "While thoroughly discussing key regional and global issues, the parties focused on the situations in Syria, Yemen, Libya, Iraq, the Persian Gulf region and on the Palestinian territories," the statement reads. "It was stressed that there was no alternative to finding a political and diplomatic solutions to conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa throug inclusive national dialogues based on international law," the Russian Foreign Ministry said, adding that the need to unite the global community’s efforts to counter terrorism and extremism had also been highlighted. In addition, during the meetings, Russia and UAE "commended the current level of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation." "Abu Dhabi confirmed its determination to maintain its trust-based political dialogue with Moscow and boost bilateral relations in the economic, investment, energy, industrial, cultural, humanitarian and other fields," the statement said.
