"Active development of tourist exchange between Russia and China today dictates the necessity of taking serious decisions at the federal level aimed at considerable easing of entry and exit procedures, including in the sphere of the visa regime," Titov wrote in a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin. "We are convinced that steps in this direction will give an additional impetus to the development of mutual understanding and inter-cultural cooperation, as well as to business activity in the sphere of tourism, which will definitely be a positive factor for the development of the economies of both Russia and China," Titov added. The business ombudsman offers to "consider this possibility to propose to our Chinese partners at the highest level to initiate talks on visa-free regime for tourists between Russia and China." The tourism council of the Russian-Chinese Committee on Friendship, Peace and Development recommended to introduce a visa-free regime between Russia and China for tourists with the maximum term of stay at 90 days.
