Medics of the South Korean contingent Hanbit unit provide medical support to South Sudanese in a village located in South Sudan's Jonglei State, on July 6, 2015. The 290-member unit, mostly engineers and medics, is in South Sudan on a U.N. peacekeeping mission, to carry out such projects as constructing infrastructure, providing humanitarian aid, and supporting social and economic development. South Sudan declared its independence in July 2011 from its Arab-dominated northern neighbor Sudan after decades of civil war that claimed about 2 million lives.(Pool photo) (Yonhap) (END)
