TEHRAN, Feb. 14 (MNA) – President Hassan Rouhani has extended his gratitude to the public for their ‘glorious rallies’ which ‘demonstrated a strong will by the public to resist the plots of the enemies of Islam and Revolution.’

President Rouhani’s official website published the message on Saturday where the president eulogized the public for popular rallies which swarmed the streets in a day of ‘great national carnival;’

“On the brink of the Parliament and Assembly of Experts Elections, the rallies of February 11 reflected the national resolve to communicate the Revolutionary message of the nation to the world; God’s blessings may embrace the martyrs of the Revolution and you all the pious citizens who renewed your allegiance, during a contemporary epic act, to the Revolutionary ideals of the Islamic system,” emphasized the message. “The high turnout in the rallies indicated an indefatigable collective will for defending Islamic ideals against the enemies.”

“This display of public unity just before a historic event of elections is a prologue to a more extended and more conspicuous display of solidarity and timeliness of a nation who would, enthusiastically and out of full awareness to their duties, act according to their political duties in coming to ballot boxes to open a new chapter in their role in running the country,” the message lavished praise upon the public.

“In a year of wonders, the Revolution anniversary had the good omen of removing sanctions and implementation of the JCPOA clinched with world powers earlier this [Iranian] year; this great triumph was achieved only through epic fighting in the diplomatic venues and in the negotiation table and won by heroic acts of resistance by the nation inside; it was an event which plunged the enemies to despair and opened for us the roads to development and growth,” continued the message.

“The heroic public rallies are the indication of a well-aware nation and a great asset for the government in serving the true heirs to the Revolution,” it said.
