MUNICH, Feb. 14 (MNA) – During a Sat. meeting in Munich, Iranian FM Zarif and his American counterpart John Kerry held talks on ways to implement the nuclear deal dubbed JCPOA.

According to an informed source, during the meeting which was held on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference in Germany, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and US Secretary of State John Kerry conferred on the details and the implementation of the provisions stated in Iran’s nuclear deal.

The historic nuclear agreement between Iran and the 5+1 group of countries was implemented at a ceremony in Vienna on January 16, following the announcement by the UN nuclear watchdog that Iran had fulfilled its commitments under the agreement. As a result, the nuclear and economic sanctions on Iran have been lifted, heralding a new phase in Iran’s economic and political interaction with the world.

Zarif has also held talks with a number of other representatives of the 5+1 including Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. During the meeting on Thursday, Wang Yi announced that Iran’s role in resolving Syrian crisis is ‘undeniable’ and must be seriously taken into account by all other countries.

Iran’s Zarif participated in the international talks on Syria on Thursday which led to an agreement among all world powers to seek a nationwide ‘cessation of hostilities’ in Syria to begin in a week's time. Zarif is accompanied by Deputy FM Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on this two-day visit.

The 52nd Munich Security Conference attended by 23 heads of states and tens of ministers is being held from February 12-14.
