Commerce Ministry to hold "Top Thai Brands" expo

CHIANG MAI, August 21 (TNA) -- The Thai Commerce Ministry is set to hold a regional-level international expo, 'Top Thai Brands', in Thailand's northern province of Chiang Mai, as an extension from the Thaifex expo due to its high success and to help create confidence in the country among international community, while expecting more than 200 million baht to be generated from the coming expo alone. Chiang Mai Deputy Governor Supachai Iamsuwan, together with Deputy Director of the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) under the Commerce Ministry, Aoramon Saptaweetham jointly held a press conference at the Rati Lanna Hotel in Chiang Mai earlier today (Aug 21), that the Top Thai Brands Expo, one of the largest international expos in the region, is scheduled to be held on August 26-30 at the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre. They said more than 400 Thai brands have registered to participate in the expo, which include exporters, as well as small and medium-sizes businesses from across the nation. The business and industrial sectors would also displaying their products at the biggest regional expo, following the success of the Thaifex and in line with Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha's policy that the ministry should organise a regional-level exhibition. The ministry further noted that is has invited over 200 ASEAN ministers, importers, and buyers to attend relelvant seminars. The expo is expected to draw in around 50,000 visitors and to generate a revenue of more than 200 million baht, while also help to create more confidence of Thailand among the international community.
