Energy Ministry to sign MoUs with Myanmar

BANGKOK, June 14 (TNA) - Energy Minister Narongchai Akrasanee will on Monday sign two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on a development of electricity system and on import of liquefied natural gas (LNG), aimed at boosting energy between the two neighbouring countries, a senior ministry official said. The official said the MoUs would be signed with Myanmar’s minister of energy and minister of electric power and would be witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister Mom Rajawongse Pridiyathorn Devakula. The first MoU focuses on energy cooperation between the two energy ministries in which they would cooperate on upstream and downstream of petroleum, for example, gas pipe development, exploration and production, efficiency on importation of LNG, and an improvement of oil refinery.
