Gazprom still in talks over LNG supplies with Egypt’s EGAS - company

ROME, December 2. /TASS/. Russian gas giant Gazprom is still in talks over supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with Egypt’s EGAS, Executive Director of Gazprom Marketing & Trading Frederic Barnaud said on Wednesday. "The talks proceed. The market needs LNG," he said, adding that the contract may be concluded for short- or mid-term instead of long-term. As TASS reported earlier in 2014 Egypt agreed with Russia on 7 LNG shipments. Gazprom signed a respective contract with Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS). Egypt also suggested that Gazprom should participate in tenders to explore deposits of oil and gas within the country. In summer 2015 Russian government published documents saying that Gazprom and EGAS signed a contract on LNG supplies to Egypt till 2019. Read more
