Inter RAO, China plan to return to project of largest coal power station in Russia - Energy Minister

KHABAROVSK, July 20. /TASS/. Russia and China plan to return to developing a feasibility study for the construction of the largest in Russia coal-based Erkovetskaya thermal power plant (TPP) on the border between the two countries, Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak told reporters on Friday. "We have agreed to resume consultations, to once again return to the feasibility study of this project. Its parameters will be possibly adjusted to be more effective and to provide commercial interest to the investors who are ready to join the development of the coal field and construction of the TPP, and consumer - China - which should also be interested in receiving electricity at favorable prices and tariffs," he said. According to him, Inter RAO and the State Grid Corporation of China will hold the consultations together with the Russian Ministry of Energy. It was reported earlier that Inter RAO and the State Grid Corporation of China were discussing the possibility of joint implementation of the Erkovetskaya TPP project.
