50 Foreign Reporters To Cover 1st Int'l Conference On Women & Islamic Awakening

Tehran, July 2, IRNA – Director General of the Foreign Media Department at Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mohammad-Javad Aghajari, said on Sunday that more than 50 foreign reporters will cover the First International Conference on Women and Islamic Awakening on July 14-15. Aghajari told IRNA that the reporters, mainly female ones, will come from Malaysia, Lebanon, India, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Turkey, Italy, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Syria, Senegal, Germany, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Indonesia, Jordan, South Africa, Kyrgyzstan, Switzerland and the Philippines. He said that 120 representatives of foreign media in Tehran will also give news coverage to the conference. Female intellectuals and scholars from across the world, particularly Muslim countries, will attend the conference. University students, professors, and experts have been invited to send their articles on the Islamic Awakening to the secretariat of the conference by June 19. The papers, due to be presented to the conference concern five pivots and 31 subjects: Theoretical, Jurisprudence and legal basis of Muslim women in the process of Islamic awakening; Female personalities influencing the Islamic and revolutionary trends and values involved in Islamic awakening; Revolutionary, cultural, social and political role of women in the Islamic Awakening movements; pathology (weak points and threats) of Muslim women in Islamic Awakening movement; and Islamic revolution, models, experiences and the women's achievements in Islamic Awakening. Meanwhile Iran held a two-day World Conference on Youth and Islamic Awakening movements in Tehran on January 29-30. The participants issued a final statement saying that the thoughts of the late Imam Khomeini, the Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, inspired the Islamic Awakening movements in the Muslim and Arab world./end
