Ahmadinejad Condoles Niger Counterpart On Deadly Floods

Tehran, Oct 17, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a message expressed condolences to his Niger counterpart Mahamadou Issoufou on the death of a number of people due to floods. Part of the message reads "The news of floods and death of a number of Niger people grieved us." He wished blessing for the dead and patience for the bereaved families. A top official in Niger has said the country's recent floods have killed 91 people and caused significant damage. The floods have damaged fields, rice paddies, water points, schools, health centers, roads, bridges and dams, he said. In addition large quantities of food have been destroyed and many cattle washed away./end
