Army supplied water to drought-hit area in Uthai Thani

UTHAI THANI, March 12 (TNA) - Although summer season has just started in Thailand, the lower northern province of Uthai Thani is already feeling the heat as villagers there have to buy drinking water for consumption. To relieve their hardship from water shortage, army officials of the Armed Forces Development Command have dispatched two trucks, carrying 6,000 litres of water and a medium-sized water purification unit to assist villagers in Baan Rai district.. An army senior official of the Mobile Development Unit said the Royal Thai Army has been prepared for the drought relief operations and is ready to supply water for local people in remote areas upon requests by local authorities.
