Authorities watch out foreigners' movements in Thailand

BANGKOK, April 7 (TNA) - Thai security authorities are closely monitoring movements of suspicious foreigners in Thailand, following reports that ethic Uighurs have entered Thailand illegally by escaping unrest in China’s western Xinjiang Region. Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan told journalists on Thursday that he was informed of the reports and instructed concerned security authorities to closely monitor the updated situation, while also probing the reports. "In fact, security authorities have always monitored every foreign group entering Thailand as it is related to national security. However, the presence of the foreigners in the country could be either for terrorism or for a stopover before their escape to a third country. (TNA)
