Bali airport remains closed

BANGKOK, Nov 29 (TNA) - The closure of Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali is extended to tomorrow morning due to the eruption of Mount Agung. The Thai embassy in Jakarta deployed buses for Thai tourists to board their planes at Surabaya Airport. The embassy stated on its Facebook page that Ngurah Rai International Airport would be closed until the morning of Nov 30 and Indonesian authorities were evaluating the situation of volcanic ash on a daily basis. The Thai honorary consulate in Denpasar set up a booth in the departure hall of Ngurah Rai International Airport to help Thai tourists in Bali from 10am to 3pm. The Thai embassy and the honorary consulate are arranging for buses to serve Thai tourists who want to catch flights at Surabaya Airport. Thai tourists can seek the transport service at the booth. Buses will depart from Bali this evening and arrive in Surabaya in the following morning. The trip will take 12-15 hours. Tourists are advised to contact their airline to arrange for their flights.
