FBI asks DSI for a hand against wanted man

BANGKOK, April 3 (TNA) - The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has sought cooperation from the Bangkok-based Department of Special Investigation (DSI) for an arrest of an American criminal who has reportedly fled to Thailand. DSI Director-General Tharit Pengdit told reporters on Wednesday that his agency has been contacted by the FBI, Thailand's office, for updated information on the wanted American man, Jason Derek Brown, one of five fugitives having been on the FBI's most wanted list since 2004. Tharit said that Brown, who robbed a bank truck and murdered a security guard in the US Arizona State in 2004, has escaped with the stolen money and has reportedly hidden in Thailand. According to the DSI chief, his agency has set a cash reward of 200,000 US dollars, or about 5.8 million baht, for those who provide tip-offs on the fugitive's whereabout to the Terrorism and Transnational Crime Prevention Centre, Tel. 085-349-7279, as the criminal could become a threat to national security.
