Hundreds of events planned for cross years of Russia-China interregional cooperation - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW, February 12. /TASS/. Hundreds of events, including exhibitions and festivals, will take place within the framework of the cross years of Russian-Chinese interregional cooperation in 2018-2019, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Monday. "This major joint project continuing the practice of bilateral themed years launched in 2006, is aimed at expanding and strengthening mutually advantageous ties among the regions of Russia and China," the ministry said. "Several hundred events are planned within its framework, including exhibitions, conferences and festivals," the Foreign Ministry added. "Such major venues in our country as the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok and Russia-China Expo will provide additional possibilities for efficient interregional contacts," it said. The cross years were unveiled at a ceremony in Harbin on February 7. Attending the ceremony were Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev, who is Russian president’s envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, and Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping sent welcome messages to the participants in the ceremony. Read more
