Industrialists asked to stay alert on fire accidents

BANGKOK, Dec 18 (TNA) - Industrialist are asked to stay alert on fire accidents after official statistics show that the number of factories hit by blaze has risen in the past three years. Permanent secretary for Industry, Somchai Harnhirun issued the warning after strong breeze and dry weather hit the country, making easier for a blaze to occur and difficult to control while most plants are manufacturing more to meet market demand on the approach of festive season. Concerned government agencies including the Department of Industrial Works and the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand are asked to inform industrial entrepreneurs to be on alert for a fire accident. Official statistics show that the trend of factories hit by fire accidents are on the rise. In 2014, there were 79 fire accidents that damaged factories while there were 84 accidents in 2015 and the number rose to 98 this year. (TNA)
