Iran Temporarily Cancels Visa Exemption For Turkish Citizens

Ankara, Aug 11, IRNA – Iran embassy in Ankara declared on Friday that Iran has temporarily cancelled visa exemption for Turkish citizens until August 31, 2012. A statement published in the Embassy website said that the decision was made because of holding Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Tehran and it covers all countries which have contracts with Iran on visa exemption. It said that in direction of decisions made by the government to hold NAM summit meeting in Tehran, those Turkish citizens, who have ordinary passport, cannot use this agreement during the period. The statement asked Turkish citizens, who want to travel to Iran during these days, refer to an Iranian official representative office in Turkey and receive a tourist visa./end
