Japanese Emperor visits Thailand

BANGKOK, March 5 (TNA) - Their Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan are scheduled to arrive in Thailand this afternoon to pay homage to His Majesty late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who passed away last October. Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko will lay wreaths to pay respect to the late King Bhumbibol at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall inside the Grand Palace and sign a condolence book this evening. They will be later received by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn at Amphorn Satharn Villa at Dusit Palace. The Imperial Couple’s visit to Thailand is also to strengthen traditional longstanding and close relations between the two royal families. Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko are scheduled to return to Japan on Monday, ending their week-long trip to Vietnam and Thailand. (TNA)
