Macau satisfied with Thai workers

BANGKOK, September 27 (TNA) - A largest business conglomerate in Macau has expressed its satisfaction with Thai workers, praising their friendliness, optimism, patience and hard working. Labour Minister Padermchai Sasomsap on Thursday told reporters of the positive views on Thai workers after his meeting with executives of Venetion Macao, a large business conglomerate which own hotel chains in Macau, a special administrative region of China, where 99 Thai workers have been employed. Padermchai said that his ministry needs to, however, prepare future batches of Thai workers for sufficient foreign language proficiency, especially in Mandarin, Cantonese and English. According to the labour minister, Venetion Macao demands a total of more than 4,000-6,000 workers next year, another good opportunity for the existing group and new batches of Thai workers. The labour minister acknowledged that there are now more than 100 Thai nationals awaiting to travel to work in Macau. (TNA)
