PM gives alms to monks to pay tribute to late King

BANGKOK, Dec 5 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha led cabinet members, government officials and people to give alms to 901 Buddhist monks and novices on the occasion of the Father’s Day and the birthday of HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The activity started at the Royal Plaza at 7am. Gen Prayut, his spouse, privy councilors, the presidents of the National Legislative Assembly and the Supreme Court, representatives of governmental organisations and independent organisations and general people gave alms to monks and novices from temples in Bangkok. Dried foods gathered in the event will be forwarded to Southern flood victims. At the Royal Plaza from 10am to 8pm there are an exhibition on the late King’s Sufficiency Economy Philosophy and a fair of arts and crafts inspired by HM Queen Sirikit. Besides, HM King Rama Maha Vajiralongkorn has a Khon masked dance organised for the public at the Royal Plaza at 8pm. (TNA)
