Russia, Cuba to set up committee for high technologies

HAVANA, December 9. /TASS/. Russia and Cuba have reached agreement on setting up a committee for science and technologies, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said on Thursday at the 14th session of the Russian-Cuban intergovernmental commission for cooperation in trade, economy, science, and technology. "We agreed today on a practical materialization of the idea of a committee on science and technology that will be functioning simultaneously with our commission but will give focus to the issues of particular interest for both Cuba and Russia, and especialy in the sphere of novel technologies," Rogozin said. He added that the new agency would concentrate specifically on space and nuclear medicine and R & D in the creation of new materials. Read more
