Turkish field hospitals heal African people

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkey has constructed a 40-bed field hospital at the Ivory Coast after civil war ended. The hospital will serve in Anyama region in Abidjan city, and be handed over to United Nations Peace Force (UNOCI). "This is the third field hospital established in Africa," Ali Kemaloglu, the director general of the company manufacturing field hospitals, told AA correspondent. Kemaloglu said Nigerian Defense Ministry financed the hospital, and the ministry had purchased two fully-equipped 40-bed field hospitals from his company two years ago. "We set up our first hospital in Darfur, Sudan in a week in March 2010, and this hospital served hundreds of thousands of refugees, local people and UN executives," Kemaloglu also said. The field hospital has a radiology unit; laboratory; dental clinic and some other polyclinics; as well as a laundry; and air-conditioning, sterilization, generator, water treatment units; morgue, kitchen and bath. Moreover, Turkey's Ambassador to the Ivory Coast Yalcin Kaya Erensoy said that the country had been stabilized after a ten-year bloody civil war. Erensoy said Turkish Airlines (THY) would launch flights to Abidjan, the biggest city of Ivory Coast, and those flights would speed up investments in Ivory Coast, rich of natural resources.
