2nd day of NAM Summit begins in Tehran

Tehran, Aug 31, IRNA – The second day of the 16th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) started here Friday in the presence of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and representatives of 120 NAM member states. The 16th NAM Summit was inaugurated Thursday with a speech by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The inaugural ceremony was also addressed by President Ahmadinejad, Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moom and Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh. Participants in Friday summit would decide over the venue of the 17th NAM Summit and also finalize a draft document ratified by the NAM's experts and ministerial meetings. The closing ceremony of the NAM Summit would be held Friday afternoon.
