Attaché Praises Returning To Cultural Identity In Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Oct 7, IRNA – Iran cultural attaché in Uzbekistan said one of the most important achievements of independence of the country in the field of culture is returning of people to their cultural identity and their glorious history. Hamid Mostafavi said in a seminar dubbed as 'Consideration of books related to inscriptions of architecture of old cities in Uzbekistan', that existing inscriptions indicated importance of every historical building. He added that the cultural move, which was possible by support of 'Found-Forum Foundation' is a big step toward acquaintance of Uzbek people, especially young generation, with their own glorious history. Mostafavi continued when it is said that a nation has no history, it means that they had no past and no future, so knowing about past has an effective role in building its future and today's generation can build a better future by relying on its cultural and historical background. He stressed that existence of artists in the fields of architecture, calligraphy and poetry indicated historical and cultural relations between the two nations of Iran and Uzbekistan and we hope the ties can be expanded and more consolidated. The Iranian cultural attaché appreciated those who worked hard to compile these two books. Uzbekistan Minister of Culture and Sport Tursunali Karimovich Kuziev, by referring to the importance of the seminar, said that Uzbekistan has ancient and historical works and many inscriptions and manuscripts. He added that there are more than four thousand of historical sites in Uzbekistan, which are in the UNESCO heritage list. Representatives from a number of international organizations and bodies as well as foreign ambassadors in Tashkent and researchers and scientists attended the seminar./end
