Attack On Shiite Pilgrims Widely Condemned

Islamabad, Jan 4, IRNA – Hundreds of thousands of Shiite Muslims staged protest rallies across Pakistan to condemn the attack on the bus of pilgrims in south western city of Quetta, local media reported on Saturday. The protests were held in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Quetta, Sukardu, Peshawar, Sukkur, Larkana, Multan, and other parts of the country. The protesters chanted slogans against terrorists and some political parties. Shiites condemned the terrorist attacks against Shiite Muslims across the country that have claimed innocent lives of citizens. The protesters strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Shia pilgrims on first day of new year in Quetta that claimed at least three lives and injured 30 others. The protesters also condemned the Gilgit-Biltistan court over the bail of terrorists involved in massacre of Shia Muslims in Chillas last year./end
