Bangladesh Min: Muslim media to confront anti-Islam war

Tehran, Dec 3, IRNA – Information Minister of Bangladesh Hasanul Haq Inu urged the Islamic world media to shoulder their responsibility of confronting certain groups that want to defame Islam. He made the remarks while talking to IRNA on Wednesday on the sideline of the ongoing 10th meeting of Islamic Conference of Information Ministers (ICIM). He said the media are shouldered with the responsibility of dealing with wrong information being disseminated about Islam as well as efforts to vilify Islam which is the harshest of all challenges for the Islamic world now. He said all Islamic countries have long been stressing the need for fighting extremism and violence. Stressing that both Islamic nations and governments disapprove violence, he said certain groups which are trying to manipulate Islam are not representing Islam. The 10th ICIM is to bolster solidarity and unity and present a suitable image of Islam and Islamic states. ICIM ministerial level is held in December 3-4 in Tehran. The expert level meeting kicked off on Monday./end
