Dy FM: Iranians In Iraq Face No Problems

Tehran, June 25, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular and Iranian Expatriates Affairs Hassan Qashqavi said on Tuesday that presently no Iranian in Iraq has any problem. Speaking to IRNA, Qashqavi admitted that a number of Iranian pilgrims had faced problems in holy sites over the past few days but the problems have been removed. ˈA number of Iranian pilgrims travelling to Iraqi holy sites were besieged by terrorist forces in Samerra over the past days but their problem was removed thanks to efforts of Iranian and Iraqi officials and the countryˈs army.ˈ He said the Iranians returned home in full health. ˈPresently, Iranians abroad and pilgrims to the holy sites have no problem.ˈ Asked whether Iraniansˈ visit to holy sites has been restricted with regards to the ongoing conditions in Iraq and clashes of the countryˈs army with terrorists, Qashqavi said Foreign Ministryˈs viewpoints on the issue is the same of other official organizations in charge of pilgrimage, such as the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization./end
