Egypt's President In Tehran For NAM Summit

Tehran, Aug 30, IRNA – President Mohamed Morsi of Egypt arrived here Thursday morning to attend the 16th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in the Iranian capital. President Morsi was welcomed at the airport by Vice-President for Executive Affairs Hamid Baqaei. President Morsi is accompanied by Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr. Morsi's visit to Tehran was highly focused by political and media circles in the past days as a major event. Analysts believe that his visit to Iran indicates the failure of the US anti-Iran policies. They say President Morsi's meeting with senior Iranian officials would pave the way for promotion of Tehran-Cairo bilateral ties. The 16th NAM Summit will begin in Tehran on Thursday with a speech by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei./end
