Fact-finding Team Probes Death Of Iranian In Manila

Kuala Lumpur, Sept 2, IRNA – An Iranian fact-finding delegation inspected the death of an Iranian national in police custody in the Philippines capital, Manila, on Tuesday. Arriving in Manila on Saturday, the delegation led by director of Foreign Ministryˈs Department for Iranian Expatriates Kazem Sajjadi investigated the health center and the police custody. The delegation also talked with the cellmates of Parviz Khaki and the prison authorities. It is set to continue the probe into the death of Khaki on Wednesday. The Iranian national was arrested in Manila airport two years ago upon a demand by the US government under false pretexts. Ever since he had been held in police custody in Manila until he was pronounced dead on August 21. He is said to have died of a heart attack./end
