FM Spokesman: Exerting Pressure On Iran Will Ruin Iran-5+1 Talks

Tehran, July 3, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said here on Tuesday that exerting pressures and imposing sanctions on Iran would have negative effects on progress of negotiations between Iran and P5+1. Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing, he reiterated that Iran is fully committed to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). On the EU unilateral sanctions against Iran, he said Tehran's stands are fully transparent, adding that western countries claim they are seeking logical solutions to the existing problems but their performance is totally different. Iran has always announced its readiness for all-out cooperation in order to remove the West's concerns regarding Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, Mehmanparast noted. He underlined the need for confidence building measures by the West so that the legitimate rights of the Islamic Republic can be recognized and fully respected./end
